Choosing an independent valuer for your area
Searching for an independent business valuation near you often starts with a practical concern: finding someone who can understand the business and explain the result. We welcome remote enquiries across the UK. The first discussion establishes what needs valuing, at which date and for whose use.
This is a service coverage page, rather than a list of branch offices. Tell us the business town or postcode district, whether it operates from one or several locations and whether anyone requires an in-person meeting. Any attendance or inspection requirement must be agreed separately before the engagement begins.
Independence is about the instruction
For a shareholder exit, succession discussion or proposed sale, identify who is commissioning the work, who is paying and who is expected to rely on the report. Existing relationships and possible conflicts need to be considered before accepting an instruction. The word independent does not, on its own, mean that a report is jointly appointed or suitable as expert evidence.
For a shareholder dispute valuation, explain the relevant agreement and any legal process with your solicitor. Requirements can differ between jurisdictions and types of instruction. We need to understand those requirements before agreeing the scope.
The location evidence to prepare
- Operating premises: where trading takes place, who owns the property, and any leases or renewal dates.
- Customer reach: how much trade depends on the immediate area, a small number of customers or national contracts.
- Multiple sites: results by location and how central costs are allocated.
- Connected parties: whether a shareholder owns the premises or charges rent to the company.
Suppose a shareholder owns a workshop personally and rents it to the company. A company share valuation should distinguish the shares from the property and examine the lease arrangements. Simply adding a property estimate to an earnings-based company valuation could include value that is outside the instruction.
How a remote engagement starts
Use the short form to describe the purpose and, optionally, the operating location. After an initial discussion, information is requested through an agreed channel. The proposal sets out the scope, reporting format, intended recipients, limitations and fee. Submitting an enquiry does not commission work.
